The cherry tomato is a smaller, sweeter version of a larger tomato. Cherry tomatoes are usually slightly more expensive and grow in clusters on the tomato plants.

There are a few different kinds of cherry tomatoes and they range slightly in size. The colors of the tomatoes can also differ as there are both yellow and red varieties.

The sweet taste of the cherry tomato makes it excellent to utilize in salads, appetizer, as well as on cheese plates, pizzas and flatbreads.

A serving size is about 1/2 cup.
