Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, but sometimes you want to make them yourself. Our method works great because it allows you to make only a small batch and then slice off some fresh dough and bake a few more later.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (8 oz, 1/2 pound) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated [white] sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups Chocolate Chips (any kind of chips, chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter)
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

 

Method

In a work bowl sift together the flour, salt, baking soda. Set aside.

In a stand mixer place the sugar and softened butter, cream for a few minutes. Then add the eggs, one at a time, then vanilla. Slowly add the dry ingredients.

Once your dough forms, scoop out onto parchment paper. Form the dough into a log, about 12-15 inches long. Wrap with the paper and shape the dough.

Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degree F.

When you want to make some cookies, simply slice off a few 1/4 pieces and place on a sheet pan.

Cook for about 4 minutes, then rotate the sheet pan, then cook for around 3 more minutes.

Slide the cookies on a cooling rack, at least for a minute or two before enjoying.
