Pros: The mirror finish makes cleaning easy and the straight sides are made to add liquid like wines or stock, thereby minimizing liquid evaporation during long or slow simmering. Cons: some may think it is expensive Conclusion: Beautiful sauce pan for vegetables, grains or cereals or making candy. It just looks so classic and elegant that everything tastes better. Made to last a lifetime. We have used this size saucepan for just about everything. Rice, potatoes or making a small batch of chili we would recommed having more than one around. Update: We recently came across a few of these selling in TJMaxx for only $70, usually these pots go for $120 - $140.
