Description: Calphalon 2-1/2-Quart Shallow Saucepan made of anodized heavy aluminum and cast stainless steel handle. Comes with a tight fitting lid.

Pros: Backed up by a lifetime warranty. The surface is not non-stick (the whole pan is made of metal), but the hard anodized surface functions almost like non-stick. Stick-resistant, heavy and sturdy.

Cons: Over time, the anodized surface might wear down. This would in fact affect the flavor of the food and bring unpleasant taste.

Conclusion: This is a nice and sturdy pot. The size is perfect for making stews, sauces and braises. We are however, a little skeptical towards the anodized aluminum concept. The fact that the surface will wear down after a period of heavy use, makes this pot less attractive as opposed to a heavy duty stainless steel pan or a cast-iron pan.
