There are all sorts of communities. Christonium is an interesting community--it is sort of blog oriented and I really like the way you can share articles but I don't think too many people make use of that feature. In the same way that you can be in several clubs you can be in several communities. I have a community with a focus on presenting events. My community is a ning network. Anyone is welcome to join my community. What a ning network offers is the ability to share slideshows and music with the community. You also have a profile page where you can promote yourself and your business. You can leave comments or private messages for other members and of course you can designate people as your friends.
