Every state requires a license of some form to sell real estate and have the designation of Realtor. The problem for most people is how to decide what to do to best prepare for a real estate exam.

As with any test the best way to prepare is to aquire some advance training or web course-work. There are several mail-order style programs that can be obtained on the web or by mail. The cost is anywhere from $75-$200 for such a program. Many of these programs are tailored for each state, since there is no national exam or national testing procedure.

The best choice, to be in compliance with your state would be to sign up for the local Real Estate course at your Community College. Cost would be about the same as above.

Most states require at least 80-160 hours of class training from an approved provider prior to taking the Real Estate exam. A good choice would be to take a real estate course at your local college or other educational institution.

Career Web School has some online courses available for real estate.

www.careerwebschool.com

In most states the qualifications for applying for a real estate license are not too difficult. If you meet the minimum requirements you can then apply for your own real estate license. Even though you are not usually required to have any professional training you will always benefit from financial or real estate training programs before applying for a license or taking any exams.

You may be able to find classes offered by community colleges or specialty colleges, and even if you are in a remote or rural area you can take classes on the web or other advanced training in finance or law. Fees vary according to the intensity and length of the training but expect from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, including books and training manuals.

Generally real estate education classes instruct students in real estate law, investing, mortgage options, and some finance. It is likely that your local bookstore will have many books in their “Business Section” that can give you a great idea of what to expect and even some great tips from those who have experience. But professional classroom instruction is always a plus to help you really prepare for exams and real world situations.

On Becoming a Realtor

“In order to become a Realtor, a person must first successfully complete the requirements to become a real estate agent. Then, the agent must complete certain steps in order to become a member of the National Association of Realtors. It is only at this time that the agent can properly be referred to as a Realtor.”

http://www.anshell.com/content/view/72/25/
