Dual Agency an agency relationship in which the agent acts for both of the principals at the same time in the same transaction.

This type of agency, although quite legal, is often times not the best approach for a buyer or seller. It is always best to have one Realtor/agent representing your best interests without having to navigate the fine line between two parties.

Dual Agent an agent who represents both parties in a transaction.

Any realtor/agent that has been engaged to act in an agency capacity for two parties in the same transaction is considered to be a dual agent. I again caution any buyer or seller to first consider the unintended consequences in making the decision of having a dual agent.
