Target has all the new KitchenAid stand mixers. Most people rate this brand as one of the best for stand mixers. They are all powerful and have a great look. If you are looking to upgrade your old model a KitchenAid is a great choice.

Description: Stand Mixer.

Pros: nice design, simple controls, 7 quart bowl, included blender attachment.

Cons: none.

Conclusion: This is a large capacity powerful stand mixer with a free blender attachment, good buy, even at $400. Looks a lot like the old Farberware design. That lasted for years.

Pros: powerful, 12 speeds, large capacity bowl.

Cons: expensive.

Conclusion: This is a very nice, high-end stand mixer that would easily work with any style dough. Great design and a nice extra-large work bowl. The Cuisinart 7 quart stand mixer comes in 3 colors white, brushed chrome and black.

Pros: Rounded power cord. Protected air vents.

Cons: may not be necessary if you have a stand mixer.

Conclusion: KitchenAid makes great products and this one is no exception. We think having a good quality hand-held mixer as well as a good stand mixer is a must for any well equipped kitchen.

Description: Heavy, semi-professional style stand mixer with 5 quart bowl.

Pros: Very Nice finish and powerful enough to handle any kitchen job. Not as heavy as competing mixers.

Cons: The bowl on this mixer is not as useful as it could be. We prefer KitchenAid's Professional Plus primarily because of the way the bowl attaches to the mixer itself. It is easier to clean than this model which has a grove the bowl fits into.

Conclusion: This is a very nice machine. Many attachments are available as well as colors. This is in the mid-range of the higher-end models available from the top makers. We like it but really prefer the Professional Plus model because of the bowl design. This KitchenAid 5 quart standing mixer is available in three new metallic colors chrome, nickel and copper.

The Kitchen Aid hand mixer is so convenient and functional for any job - big or small. It comes in three colors.

Even though hand-held mixers do not work well with tough dough, they are really nice to have around. For small jobs like whipping cream, or cookie dough, they are great. The new KitchenAid models have been reviewed very highly by every source we have read.

The new DC motor is supposed to have even more power and over-heat less then AC motors.

Pros: Heavy duty. Nice finish and powerful enough to handle any kitchen job. Great bowl design. Splatter guard included.

Cons: Heavy and can be somewhat cumbersome if you have to move this mixer around much. Otherwise no cons.

Conclusion: This is a very nice machine. We don't suggest this machine if you are not a serious cook. This design is excellent. The bowl stays above the base of the machine. It stays clean easier than bowls that attach to the base. We like the height and size of this machine.

Make sure you use yours, it is too good to just sit on the counter.

We like the Kitchen Aid bowl design on their high-end competing line. Also the attachements available are accessed through the rear of the machine (blender...etc).

Farberware Standing Mixer

Description: A Farberware free standing mixer with a stainless steel bowl & white & brown top. The bowl says made in England with a 4C on the bottom. There is no model number on it but it was made in the 80's. There's an opening on the top that was supposed to fit a juice extractor. It has 3 attachments--whisk, dough hook & flat beater.

Pros: It has worked well over the years and whips & beats quickly. It has all the speeds and is very sturdy. I do like the stainless steel bowl and is large enough to hold quite a bit.

Cons: This mixer is very heavy and awkward to use and is hard to clean under the bowl.

Conclusion: This is an old mixer but has performed well over the years and I don't have the heart to get a newer version.

Sunbeam Hand Mixer Model 2840

Description: White hand held mixer with 2 beaters and 5 speeds

Pros: Nice and compact and really easy to use, the cord is retractable so it stores neatly and the 2 beaters come out easily. This is a really good buy for small jobs since my stand up mixer is so heavy and awkward to use and this one is a pleasure

Cons: I can't really think of any only that the cord is a little short so you need to be close to an outlet

Conclusion: I would definitely recommend this mixer
