The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is past day 50 and counting. Clearly by any definition this is a disaster that will have a lasting impact in multiple ways. BP may well wind up in Bankruptcy, which would probably put the United States Government in charge for real. The eco-system in the Gulf of Mexico may be irreparably harmed for a generation or worse. While all of this has been happening where has the President of the United States been? Well, some would bring up his trip to chicago and his various Musical/Hollywood entertainment schedule at the Whitehouse.

Mr. Obama is a nice guy. Well, so was Jimmy Carter, remember what happened to him! Presidents need to be "Leaders." I cannot put enough emphasis on this point. Leadership is what  Barack Obama lacks big time. Yes, President Obama is a fine and smart Politician. We need less Politics and more Leadership.

If President Obama does not reverse his course immediately he will be a one term President that will forever be remembered for this Gulf of Mexico disaster.

Presdent Obama, please stop trying to look like a "Hard Ass", you do not have the demeanor for that. Instead of telling Matt Lauer you "Want to Kick Some Ass",  why not get in front of the American People from the Oval Office and give a prime time address to the nation.

Number one, select immediately an individual that will be the Lead person in solving this problem. The Coast Guard is a major player in helping but should not be have Admiral Thad Allen in front of the camera every day. Hell, Haley Barbour, Governor of Mississippi, would be the perfect person to lead the charge. He has credibility and has proven he can get things done.

So what he is a Repuiblican. He is perfect for the job and that would take away some of the criticism from the "Political Right."

I certainly hope you, Mr. Obama, happen across this missive. You need to start taking "Command and Control", even though you are better suited to be a behind the scenes Pol!
