Politics in America has frequently been called a "bloodsport". I find this term to be never more approporiate than in the year 2010. Incumbents in both the Democrat & Republican Parties are at a high level of risk to lose in Primaries and very likely to lose in November. Candidates are pilloried from the time they announce their candidacy. Often the candidate for Political office is a novice with barely the ability to string two sentences together, much less have a cultivated level of skill in Communications and of the Issues. The voting public has had it with incompetence, promises made but never kept and outright corruption. Is it not time to have some entry level qualification standards set for candidates to high State and Federal Offices? Maybe having an SAT style questionaire given to any interested Political Candidate. Would GE or IBM hire a CEO that had little or no Executive experience? Well, I hope not, from some of the results the Banking Industry may need to review this principle! If an SAT style test were required I guarantee that 10% of Congress would immediately resign and another 10% would never qualify! This would at the very least begin to weed out the worst of the worst. Have you ever examined the qualifications of some of the members of Congress? It is embarrassing to listen to these pseudo leaders when they are attempting to respond to a news interviewer. They step on their words and most of the time look very foolish at best and less a leader than your local Dog Catcher. Has the Political arena become so caustic that the United States of America has second, third and fourth rate candidiates in public office because the "Best of the Best" can do much better in the Private Sector not being a Senator or Congressman.
