Lack of Leadership in Washington D.C. from the President on Down The Line

Washington D.C. is replete with Politicians that are like Ostriches, their heads literally in the sand on the banks of the Potomac River. Leadership is a scarce commodity in Washington D.C.. Leadership is akin to the definition of the word "Quality", you'll know it when you see it! I have been waiting patiently for President Obama to demonstrate that he is a leader.

The tepid response from President Obama on the crisis in the Gulf of Mexico is but one instance of his lack of the necessary "command & Control" facets of Leadership. Even if President Obama may not be an expert on every issue, which most reasonable people would not require, Obama should at least be able to say something to the effect that "He" is the President and who the "hell" did not know that he was in fact the one in charge! People should never have any question or doubt in their minds who is in charge in everyday management and especially during a crisis. Leadership is something that President Eisenhower had plenty of for those of us that can remember the 1950's.

Today, May 28th, Congressman & Senators (both houses) are slinking out of town for the Memorial Day weekend with much of the Nations business set aside due to the fact that they (Congress) appear to be reluctant to face the requirements of their job description, act on the business of the country.

The last poll numbers had a 23% favorable rating for Congress. In my judgment that number should be a "minus 23%". If it were possible I would encourage voters to vote out of office every Politician Republican & Democrat alike. Maybe that would send a signal it is time to perform and not worry about getting re-elected in November 2010.

Congress should be mandated to return to Washington D.C. and get back to work. Vacations are for those indiviuals that have performed their jobs with at least some positive results.
