The "Republican Campaign Machine" is gearing up for the fall campaign. John McCain is in Iraq sharpening his "security" credentials. Vice President Dick Cheney has made a "surprise" visit and has joined John McCain in Iraq.

With the Democrats "doing in" one another it is only appropriate than John McCain stay out of the way of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. John McCain will need to improve his "Economic" Credentials if he intends to wage a strong challenge to either Obama or Clinton in the fall.

The economy will most assuredly get worse before it gets any better. This point will be hard for John McCain to avoid. McCain will also need to avoid the criticism he will hear repeatedly from the Democrats. That critcism will focus on John McCain being an extension of the Bush administration.

The Democrats, either Hillary or Barack, will be the benefactor of this anger with the Republicans. Voters in the great "middle" will swing to the Democrats. That will be a prblem that John McCain may not be capable of overcoming.

Gov. Sarah Palin is respected by social and fiscal Conservatives, reformers and indy's. The battle ground is shifting to the mid-west and Gov. Palin has the profile to appeal to those voters. Palin has more executive experience than both Clinton and Obama, and Palin practices straight-talk! Her two years as Governor has resulted in a long list of reforms in government and a 180 degree change in how politics is practiced in Alaska.

One more note: In almost all of the head-to-head McCain-Obama polls, the number of undecided women doubles over a McCain-Clinton poll.
