The Republican Race for President of these United States is beginning to take on a new look. Ron Paul from Texas is raising money on the Internet at an "unprecedented" rate. Ron Paul has also come in first in a non-binding Straw Poll in New York State, coming in ahead of Rudy Giuliani. Kansas Senator Sam Brownback, having withdrawn from the Presidential race has now endorsed John McCain. Mitt Romney is moving "fast and furious" in South Carolina, well organized and most personable. Rudy Giuliani has obtained the endorsement of Pat Robertson from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am not so sure that Rudy Giuliani is very pleased by this endorsement. Pat Robertson is on the other side of the mountain on the way down. Pat Robertson no longer has the power & influence he had a decade ago. The way the Republican field is folding down the stretch, Fred Thompson may be worrying about Ron Paul. Ron Paul may soon be ahead of Fred Thompson and his less than stellar campaign initiative. John McCain continues to "go after it" with all his might. McCain is no quiter. The problem for John McCain is lack of a quality campaign organization. Well, who does that leave for the Republicans? It appears that Rudy Giuliani is part of a "self fulfilling prophecy", that he will be the Republican nominee. Genaeral David Patraeus is the key for the Republicans. He must be the Vice Presidential candidate no matter who ultimately secures the top spot! This years slate of Republican candidates is somewhat of a disappointment. Somebody will get the nomination, I am just thinking that the best candidate is not presently a candidate. comments, opinions.................
