President George W. Bush stepped to the podium for another of his infamous News Conferences today, October 17, 2007. President Bush sounds as if he is late to catch a bus, Bush is almost breathless in his rapid fire delivery telling us of all the things Congress is tardy in accomplishing. President Bush is squarely holding Congress in contempt. It is notable that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have not exactly set the pace to get anything of consequence accomplished for the American Public. President Bush made reference to the "Ottoman Empire" and the recent resolution Congress has passed condemning Turkeys "Genocide" in 1915. President Bush responded to one question by saying that it is not in Turkeys interest to send additional troops into Iraq. Turkey already has some troops in Iraq. The President is scheduled to present a Gold Medal to the Dali lama, much to the dismay of the Chinese President. President Bush has told the Chinese that they should be meeting with the Dali Lama, it would be in China's best interest, according to President Bush. David Gregory, NBC News, posed a question to President Bush regarding the recent Israeli air strike in Syria. President Bush's response was no comment. David Gregory repeatedly attempted to get a response from the President with no success. The next question is about Russia and Iran, President Putin and Presdent Ahmadinejad smiling and shaking hands in a recent photo. There was an agreement between Iran and Russia not to have an attack on any of the Caspian Sea countries from another of those countries that border on the Caspian Sea. President Bush would not respond directly to a question from Martha Raddatz regarding North Korea and their Nuclear program. President Bush deferred back to the "six party talks" involving Norh Korea, China, South Korea, Japan, Russia and the United States. President Bush stood clear on the fact that their need to be consequences for North Korea if they did not cooperate in the Six Party Talks. President Bush made another of his infamous comments that,"This was not his first Rodeo" to Martha Raddatz. President Bush is still mentally back on the sofa in 1954 watching the old westerns on television! President Bush certainly appears to be off center today and edgy! President Putin of Russia had made a statement that Iran has no intention of making a nuclear weapon. The Presidents response was that he would "need to speak to Vladimir Putin about that". Per President Bush, if Iran had a nuclear weapon, that would be a threat to world peace. President Bush wants to avoid a WW lll. President Bush says that it is his intent to continue to rally the World against Iran. Just Thinking, President Bush was not so patient with this strategy when the United States was dealing with Saddam Hussein, prior to sending our troops into Iraq. The United States would continue to facilitate the Mid-East talks to obtain peace between the Palestineans and Israel. The United States "cannot impose peace", rather the United States "needs to encourage peace". President Bush bellieves we will see a democratic state. Just Thinking, I bet President Bush would like to have a settlement between Israel and the Palestineans as President Bush needs to have something positive towards his Legacy. President Bush recognizes there is "softness" in the housing market, "what do we do to help homewoners"? It seems to this scribe that the President is the last on board recognizing this fact. Bush went through the usual spin that there have been 49 consecutive months of growth in the economy. Per President Bush, "when you have more houses than buyers", something has got to give. This type of comment is pure George Bush. President Bush commented that his "leadership style has been to try to influence people", Yeah, like his statement, "Bring them on". President Putin has the upper hand on President Bush, Putin is more swashbuckling, President Bush falls over his own words. A comment from a reporter to President Bush was that Mr. Putin would still be in power after President Bush left Office. President Bush said that President Putin is "wiley", well President Bush should be half as wiley. Mr. Bush is becoming weary, his responses are disjointed and rambling on. The FISA bill, veterans affairs, legislation stalled, Mr. Bush said he would probably not be a good "legislator", he is right on this one. President Bush speaks of the veto on the S-Chip bill, well it looks as though he (Bush) is seeking a way out on this one. President Bush side-stepped the question about General Sanchez's comments on Iraq. Bush would not criticize General Sanchez. President Bush hedged his comments on "Blackwater" in Iraq. President Bush is awaiting reports regarding the allegations against Blackwater. Mr. Bush stated that Blackwater played an important role in Iraq. Mr. Bush was asked his definition of torture. Bush's response was , as expected, "it is defined in U.S. Law". Mr. Bush was asked if he is becoming increasingly more irrelevant? Of Course Presdent Bush said absolutely not. It is troubling to see the President as if he were a character on Saturday Night Live. I feel as though his presentation today was a parody, the problem with this is, it is for real. Comments, opinions...............
