Senator Barack Obama has remained true to his beliefs (well almost), to change the culture of Washington, naming Senator Joe Biden Democrat from Delaware as his running mate. Barack Obama probably would have selected Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia if recent occurrences in the State of Georgia, (not in the USA) formerly a part of the Soviet Union had not happened. Foreign Policy experience is admittedly a weakness for Barack Obama. Senator Joe Biden has thirty five years of experience in the United States Senate. In addition Biden has been Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Biden has been criticized for saying exactly what is on his mind. Maybe this is not such a bad idea. Given the past nearly eight agonizing years of George W. Bush it will be refreshing to hear someone tell the truth, even if it is somewhat like hearing your Pastor on Sunday morning. The Democratic National Convention gets underway in Denver, Colorado tomorrow August 25th. This Convention comes on the heels of the Olympics in Beijing, China and should not disappoint viewers with the hype and bombast. The Clintons will be hard to keep off center stage. If Barack Obama and Joe Biden can corral Hillary and Bill Clinton and have them endorse the Democratic ticket without reservation then it will have been a successful Convention for the Obama-Biden ticket. If Bill and Hillary Clinton do not decide to step up and enthusiastically support and endorse Obama-Biden without resertvation then John McCain will be all the more difficult to defeat in November.
