I woke up dreaming recently about the dress I would purchase if my daughter was getting married and I had a hard time deciding on the perfect formal dress. What kind of style, fabric, color? short or long? sleeved or cap sleeves? So I decided to take a look in Bloomingdale's "Wedding Shop" and there were so many gorgeous options. I especially liked the Tadashi taffeta gown but the Kay Unger chiffon was also quite nice. What a decision! of course I had to know the time of day, ceremony choice, reception and setting. So many choices following the social code and doing the right thing.

I wanted something glamorous yet sophisticated, simple, sleek and elegant. Graceful but sexy ...What could be easier? Or so I thought. Well, I would have to try on several different styles and designs - to see what looked best. Not as easy or simple as I had pictured. I'm partial to navy blue so I thought maybe that might be a good choice - neutral but smart. Being cost-conscience I was also looking for a color and style that could be worn for a different function. I had a wonderful time trying on all these gorgeous formal dresses and gowns and felt like a princess. And then my dream ended.

So to end my story, I woke up with a startled nudge. My daughter isn't getting married and my dream of the perfect dress is only in my dreams - for today anyway.
