Major League Baseball may not be all that pleased with the results of the 2007 Playoffs. Who would have thought that the Yankees, Phillies and Cubs would be on the brink of elimination on October 6, 2007.

Unless something dramatic happens for these teams, the Cubs, Yankees and Phillies, the Worlds Series may be going to either Phoenix or Denver.

Not exactly the outcome Bud Selig would have thought about a week ago. Let's be candid, small market teams (Colorado and Arizona) simply will not draw the television audience that the Cubs or Yankees would. This will be a problem for the FOX Network. The announcers will need to put some real "spin" on the games to make a "silk purse out of a sows ear".

Well, "it ain't over till its over", as Yogi Berra might say. Bud Selig will be doing some extra praying this weekend, that either or both the Yanks and Cubs get it going.

Thank heaven for Boston................
