In the rush to shore up my outdoor furniture this past season I was able to learn quite a bit about the subject. I went to Lowes and Home Depot...looked around all my local stores and realized the subject is vast.  The types of materials they are made of alone are worth the investigation. As we've already said you should buy according to the real use your furniture is likely to receive. Next you should look at composition. Because composition dictates a number of things. The first and most basic item composition dictates is how many times the outdoor furniture is moved. In other words, iron or wood would be wonderful choices if you don't plan to move your outdoor patio set very often. If, on the other hand, you plan to do a great bit of moving around, perhaps aluminum or plastic is the way to go. Aluminum requires low maintenance and is available in a wide variety of colors. This would be great for the homeowner who has a colorful yard or home. Perhaps most important of all is that aluminum is durable. Some maintenance tips for aluminum are that a powder-coat finish provides durability. You can use car wax or mineral oil to help protect the surface. As far as cleaning aluminum all you need is soapy water and a rinse. For the conscientious homeowner there's good news in plastic because its components may be of recycled materials and is lightweight. As far as cleaners are concerned, apply those that prevent mildew. Then you can rinse down with water. PVC PVC is lightweight, low maintenance, and available in many colors. Cleaning only requires a wash with soapy water and rinse. Steel as a component is sturdy and durable. Steel also requires little to no assembly and is comfortable. You can apply a protective finish to prevent rust, then wash with a mild soap and rinse. Wicker & Rattan Wicker and rattan are other options in the outdoor furniture market. Wicker and rattan are lightweight and flexible. They are durable and come in a wide variety of colors. And like steel, wicker and rattan are comfortable. Maintenance for wicker and rattan are to dust occasionally and wash with mild detergent and rinse. Wood compositions are available in teak, cedar, cypress, pine, and others. Teak, for example, provides a combination of beauty and durability that is ideal. Perhaps most importantly with wood, is that it won't get too hot or cold. It is sturdy and dependable. As far as painting wood is concerned, use a paint with UV filters to prevent fading. It may require a preservative and you should wash with soapy water and rinse. Much like wood, steel, and aluminum wrought iron is sturdy and reliable. Wrought iron may be mounted on wheels and there are many designs to choose from. With wrought iron you can use paint to touch up cracks and you can also apply rust protection. Like the other composites, all that is required to clean it is a mild soap and rinse. Furniture Styles

The next piece of outdoor patio furniture you will likely not be able to live your spring and summer without is a chaise lounge. A chaise lounge accompanied with a table allows you the privacy and serenity of an entire afternoon alone or with a good book. Outdoor Life Your outdoor life will never be the same with a patio set consisting of a dining set, seating set, or fire pit set. Revel in the appeal and wonderful addition. Decorating your patio will no doubt be tops on your list once you get a look at this wonderful outdoor furniture. Your gettogethers and parties and time poolside will never be the same. The after-dinner drinks and conversation alone are enough to strike satisfaction in the heart of the most sullen guest. So let it all take place under the stars and under the watchful and protective eyes of your home. The dinner itself—turkey—should be well placed as the center piece of the dining table. The adjacent candles should accent nicely. The chairs themselves should speak for themselves as they don't get any more comfortable. And the bistro set should get good use for two who would like to participate, but also would like their privacy. A couple of hours of sitting under it with the mosquito net in place will surely enthrall the most ardent vegetarian you had for dinner. And don't forget the flower garden again. Surely a small walk to it would not be a lot to ask with a guest or two. Standing under the trellis will surely enliven the most melancholy of spirits. Standing and enjoying the nighttime sky has surely never been easier or better. Daisies, marigolds, petunias, impatients, all there and all presented beautifully through your careful and watchful eye. And the wood and metal garden bench was a nice addition as it affords seating for two or three people ready for a garden view. Stepping on the path between flowers, one can surely see the amount of work and time that went into cultivating the soil and preparing the flower beds. Surely your hand at outdoor space was not limited to the porch, for there was the gazebo and now the flower garden to impress the guests. And all was kept safe and secure with the lovely walkway lighting you recently installed. Can anything be more rewarding or satisfying? Can any other type of event go on so perfectly, than entertaining those you know and care for? Your style and outdoor décor has never been more at a premium. Your taste and elegance surely speak for themselves. And all was very simply began and undertook by researching outdoor furniture. The outdoor furniture surely blossomed into accent décor and lighting. The bar has never received more use and you yourself have never received more compliments. So be proud and be fruitful of your outdoor accomplishments. Share them again and again with your guests and neighbors. Share them on into the night and on into one another's company.
