Champion Cooler & Bonaire Portable & Window Evaporative Cooler from Home Depot

<<     >>

To buy either this Champion Cooler portable evaporative cooler or this Bonaire window wall evaporative cooler from Home Depot would be a good idea if you're looking for ways to reduce the temperature in your home. Evaporative coolers cost less to run than traditional air conditioners and they are quite effective. The portable models tend to be less expensive, however they also won't cool down a room quite as quickly or as well. The slightly more expensive permanent window wall evaporative cooler model on the other hand is more cumbersome to install, but works better and is quieter. It can definitely be a difficult choice to make, however you have to balance function against budget and then make a decision regarding what you want to spend. In general though, if you have the money, it almost always pays off in the end to spend slightly more up front and get a better product.

The Bonaire cooler for example can cool up to 1600 to 1800 sq ft. That's quite a lot of surface for such a small and affordable unit! This cooler costs around $480 which is not too bad if you compare it to a air conditioner, plus it costs less to run. The Champion evaporatve cooler on the other hand costs around $280 (however you can find cheaper models), and while this unit doesn't cover as large an area, it does allow you to move it between rooms.

Overall, to buy an evaporative cooler is a viable and practical alternative to an air conditioner. Some people don't like air conditioners and the way they work, and if that's the case with you, then going for an evaporative cooler could certainly be a good idea. Luckily there are lots of different models and price ranges to choose between at home improvement stores such as Home Depot, Lowes and Sears, so you do have quite a few options to choose between that are well built and also pretty affordable. Getting cool and comfortable in the heat of summer can really be priceless, so if you're getting ready for the summer and you aren't yet completely prepared, then it would be high time to start looking around.
