Onions, Spring Or Scallions, Green Prices on vegetables like spring onions can vary by the season. We have found that for a bunch (4 ounces or so) the price can vary from $0.50 to $2.00. Spring onions, scallions, green onions, salad onions or green shallots are a variety of young onions with a long thin white base and a long green stalk. Mild in flavor but stronger than chives they can be enjoyed cooked, in salads or as a topping for sauces. Cooked or raw serving size is about 1/2 cup.
