Basic Old-Fashioned Oatmeal

Oatmeal makes a nice and quick breakfast. There is no real reason to use quick oats, because it only takes about 5 minutes to make real oatmeal. For even more texture, try Steel Cut Oatmeal.

Bring water to boil, add the salt and the oats. Let simmer until soft, about 5 - 10 minutes. Serveoats with milk and cinnamon sugar.

Oatmeal is also nice to serve with buttermilk or yogurt as well as nuts, fruit and apple sauce.
