It is October already and so comes our first rain in quite a while. Saturday morning was cool, cloudy, with some peaks of sun through the clouds over Corvallis. By mid-afternoon a slow steady shower has made the day feel like Autumn.

Rain & clouds are no match for Saturday shoppers in Corvallis at one of the busiest Farmer's Markets in the Willamette Valley. The Saturday Market was bustling with shoppers purchasing flowers, fruits, vegetables, berries, wine, baked goods and listening to some very eclectic music provided by wandering minstrels and long time favorite groups like "Big Rex and Gumbo."

Late summer/early autumn squash is plentiful along with tomatoes, peppers, beets, carrots, lettuce, corn, onions etc. Everyone seemed to be carrying a bouquet of flowers and many were carrying sacks full of farm fresh goodies!

There was even a visit from the "plastic bag lady", sharing lessons in ecology and conservation by not using plastic bags when shopping. Hmmm, maybe the vendors at the Farmer's Market were not paying attention! They nearly all use plastic bags!

While enjoying a glass of wine & lunch at Belle Vallee Cellars suddenly a light aircraft appeared overhead. As quickly as it appeared it disappeared. However, I was able to catch it on video.
