Saturday morning was mild with some sun and clouds in Corvallis, very reasonable for the task at hand, the "Polar Plunge", sponsored by Fred Meyer and the Corvallis Police Department in conjunction with Oregon Law Enforcement.
Hundreds gathered at the Crystral Lake Boat ramp to both witness the event and more importantly participate. Teams from Oregon State University, Local Service Organizations and Law Enforcement waited in line to have the opportunity to jump into the Chilly Willamette River.
The water temperature was around 42 degrees, not warm by any measure!
Proceeds raised will go to the Oregon Special Olympics.
