Thursday evening, January 31,  the Old Mill School in Corvallis was the venue for the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. Approximately 70 local citizens and business people were on hand to celebrate the Old Mill School and honor Founder Bev Larson who 35 years ago started something that seemed impossible at that time, but not for Bev Larson. Unfortunately Bev Larson passed on a little more than a year ago but her idea lives on. The Old Mill School has been a safe haven for those in need for more than three decades.

Old Mill Center Programs include: Healthy Start:Free services to first-birth families in Benton County; Relief Nursery: A child abuse and neglect prevention program; Pre K Classroom and Child and Family Therapy.

New Chamber of Commerce Director Kevin Dwyer was on hand along with Benton County Commissioner Jay Dixon. Others in attendance were Jennifer Roberts and Becca Hosner from Regent Court Memory Care, Steve Redman from Town and Country Real Estate along with Jay Peek and Becky Mutschler Corvallis Chamber Ambassadors.

Jerilyn Opoien from the Old Mill School, in her remarks, welcomed everyone to the Business After Hours and reminded everyone of some upcoming events, April 6, 2013 Bev's Bandwagon Fundraiser and Saturday May 4, 2013 CH2M Hill Alumni Center the site of the 33rd Annual Auction.

Corvallis Chamber of Commerce Membership Director Mickey McCreery helped organize the event.
