The New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 today in Super Bowl XLVI. The prognosticators did not see fit to make the New York Giants the favorites, making New England a field goal favorite going into the game. Eli Manning now has two Super Bowl Wins and Two Super Bowl MVP Trophies on his mantle. Tom Brady has three Super Bowl Wins to his credit, but also has two Super Bowl losses to Eli Manning and the New York Giants. New York Giant Head Coach Tom Coughlin has proven once again that he is in the elite group of coaches in NFL history. It is almost impossible to have one Super Bowl appearance much less two Super Bowl wins as an NFL Head Coach. The Giants won with strong defense, a running game courtesy of Bradshaw and Jacobs, great receivers and Eli Manning as the quarterback. Having seen all of the greats over the past 55 years, Tittle, Unitas, Namath, Griese, Elway, Peyton Manning, etc. no one is cooler under pressure in the fourth quarter than Eli Manning. Congratulations to the New York Giants!
