Democrat Gubernatorial candidate John Kitzhaber was in Newport, Oregon last night at a rally and fundraiser hosted by Sen. Joanne Verger, Rep. Jean Cowan, Comm. Terry Thompson, Comm. Dan Lindley, and Comm. Bill Hall.

This event was held at the Rogue Ale's Public House in Historic Downtown Newport, Oregon. Candidate Kitzhaber shared some prepared remarks with the crowd of about 50 people, including  his vision of getting Oregon back on track economically. He made a point to say that "...raising per capita income in every area of Oregon".

Many in the crowd voted for John Kitzhaber in his earlier stint as Oregon Governor. A question from a gentleman in the crowd asked if he (Kitzhaber) was up to the task of leading the State Government? The questioner elaborated further if Kitzhaber would compare the Obama Health Care Plan with his creating the Oregon State Health Care Plan? Kitzhaber went on to say that Oregon "took limited resources and spread them as far as possible; two million Oregonians have benefited from the Oregon Health Plan."

John Kitzhaber is looking for support from all corners of Oregon and has recently visited Corvallis and Salem, Oregon.

John Kitzhaber's (www.johnkitzhaber.com) Republican opponent is Chris Dudley (www.chrisdudley.com).
