Eola Hills Winery does obtain some of their grapes for this wine from California, thus the "Lodi" designation. We like this wine very much. We agreed that there is a "peppery" taste to one's palate, actually quite interesting. In addition there is a clear note of blackberry and perhaps a little raspberry as well. Nice smooth finish, excellent! This wine would go well with a nice juicy steak or maybe a pork roast. I would purchase another bottle of this Sangiovese. Eola Hills Winery is easy to find, immediately off Highway 99 in Rickreall, Oregon. I rate this wine as "A".
