Corvallis Receives Some Welcome Rain

January 2011 was relatively dry in Corvallis and most of the Willamette Valley. Corvallis received about half the normal precipitation 3.5 inches vs normal about 7 inches for January. February started dry for the first ten or eleven days with little in the way of measurable rain. Over the past two days my rain guage is nearly full. On Tuesday the 15th I measured 1.8 inches of precipitation that fell from Monday into Tuesday. This will help make up the rain deficit and hopefully help ground moisture for spring planting in my garden.
