Corvallis will in fact have that new position of Economic Development Manager probably within the next 60-90 days. Yesterday I posed the question to Corvallis City Manager Jim Patterson as to the status of the search for the new position. Patterson's response included, "The advertisement for the position closed last week.....we have about 50 applicants......the first cut will most likely be identified by the end of this week."
Since Oregon has been identified as being #18 Nationally out of the 50 States, up from #27 a year ago, as the best place to do business by CNBC it would behoove Corvallis to select a candidate that will help create jobs and give a boost to the Corvallis/Benton County economy.
