Thursday evening was all business at Goss Stadium as the Corvallis Knights handily defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears 8-2. This weekend is the final homestand for the Knights. They are looking to secure a spot in the West Coast League Playoffs.

Last night was a 70's theme at the ball park with lots of mascots roaming the field. First there was the always familiar Corvallis Knights mascot and then there was Smokey the Bear, and Benny the Beaver. For good measure add in the mascot for a local mattress store and it made for quite a crowd on the diamond.

With the victory last night the Corvallis Knights have a 3.5 game lead in their division. With two more wins over the Cowlitz Baseball Team on Friday and Saturday the Knights will clinch a playoff spot.

Friday evening there will be another $1,000 dash for cash for youngsters age 12 and under. Saturday evening will be the final home game for the Corvallis Knights with a fireworks display immediately following the conclusion of the game.

Make certain to come out to the ball park for both games. The weather will be perfect!
