Saturday, January 10th Corvallis' new Mayor Biff Traber and Members of the Corvallis City Council took part in a Historic Homes Trolley Tour organized by Visit Corvallis and Preservation Works.

B.A. Beierle, President Preservation Works, was our tour guide and Mary Pat Parker, Director of Visit Corvallis, shared the role of Visit Corvallis in increasing tourism to Corvallis and Benton County.

The two hour tour included, driving through historic downtown Corvallis viewing nearly three dozen historic homes and a visit to "Depot Suites and Meeting Room" where Manager David Livingston, offered a tour and power point program with photos depicting Corvallis in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Participating members of Corvallis City Council included Mayor Biff Traber, Ward 1 Councilor Penny York, Ward 2 Roen Hogg, Newly elected Councilors, Zack Baker Ward 3 and Barbara Bull Ward 4, Joel Hirsch Ward 6, Newly elected Councilors Bill Glassmire Ward 7 and Frank Hann Ward 8. Councilor Beilstien Ward 5 was out of town and Hal Brauner Ward 9 was not in attendance.

For more information on tours contact either Mary Pat Parker at Visit Corvallis or B.A. Beierle at Preservation Works.

The information shared was quite interesting and the stories behind some of these historic places will make for a terrific history lesson about Corvallis.
