Friday morning we decided to pick some blueberries. There are several local blueberry farms within a fifteen minute drive of downtown Corvallis. Over the past half dozen years or so we have tried just about all of these blueberry farms. One of my favorites is Anderson Blueberries just off Highway 99 and Arboretum Road about six miles north of Corvallis. Anderson has grown in size having added several acres of additional blueberries. They have also "tweeked" their name just a bit. They are now known as "Andersonblues".
One thing has not changed though, that is the quality and great taste of their blueberries. When we arrived around 10:30 am Friday morning there were probably around twenty vehicles already in the parking lot. I suppose there are a great many other locals that are also impressed with these blueberries. Well, we set out into the fields and began picking. Planning ahead that we will return in a week or so we only picked one full bucket about 11 pounds worth.
The price is reasonable, u-pick is $1.50 per pound. There is also an on site picnic area. So, bring a picnic lunch if you so desire, it is a great spot on a warm sunny summer day in Corvallis!
