Board of Commissioners names officers for 2012
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Benton County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at its regularly scheduled work session on Jan. 3 to name Commissioner Jay Dixon as the Board Chair and Commissioner Annabelle Jaramillo as Vice Chair.
Dixon and Jaramillo – both of whom have served on the Board since 2001 – took their posts effective immediately for 2012. Commissioner Linda Modrell – who has served on the Board since 1999 – was Board Chair for the 2011 calendar year.
Benton County continues to face challenges, but the county is well positioned to make the most of opportunities that may present themselves this year. The Board will be overseeing many key activities this year, perhaps most notably the welcoming of Chief Operating Officer Dennis Aloia and moving several county operations to the recently acquired Sunset Building on Research Way this summer.
“We look to 2012 as a year for new opportunities,” Dixon said. “While we certainly will face challenges and transitions in the way we do business, Benton County is in a good position to continue offering outstanding services to Benton County residents.”
