Albany Air Show Timber Linn Memorial Park August 28th 2010

The weather was partly cloudy and cool with almost no breeze, perfect for hot air ballooning. Today at Timber Linn Memorial Park in Albany, Oregon several thousand people braved the morning chill to watch approximately two dozen hot air balloons wing their way across the morning sky.

Children were in their pajamas at 6 am and their parents were huddled in blankets but the chill and the wait were definitely worth the sight of watching these quiet behemoths ascend into the wild blue yonder. Some balloons were sponsored by local Albany businesses such as Barrett Business Services and Sunrise Surprise of Grants Pass Oregon.

By around 7:30 am nearly every balloon was up, up and away!
