Dallas Oregon is not very far from Corvallis, just 30 minutes North of town. There seem to be some nice things about Dallas, a charming downtown, a photogenic courthouse, it even has a Walmart and Starbucks. On the other hand it is a small town. Some of the people seem to distrust strangers. Since we were taking some photos of the downtown, as well as some of the local businesses we were surprised on two occasions to be asked why we were taking photos. In fact we were asked not to take photos inside an antique store. Something about "casing the joint". On a positive note the local photography store, Focalpoint Photography is a great place to visit if you are passing through. It has a nice selection of new and used equipment. The other unique aspect of Dallas is it's Drive-in movie theater where you can watch double features every night of the week.
