Corvallistidbits spent Valentines Weekend 2009 at the Oregon Coast. We stayed in Newport Oregon at a friends house on the Ocean about 3 miles south of Newport. The weather was cloudy with light rain when we left Corvallis on Friday. As we drew nearer to the Oregon Coast the weather cleared with Sun and temperatures in the 50's. The weekend was about as close to perfect as one could wish for. We enjoyed the fireplace in the evening, Friday and Saturday, with a wonderful libation and spent the day Friday, Saturday and even Sunday soaking up some sun at the beach along with some wine and cheese. 
On Saturday we went south on the coast and visited Florence, Oregon. We walked down by the ships in the "Historic" older section of Florence. We returned to Newport in the afternoon and found our way back to the ocean. It was a great weekend and look forward to doing the same thing very very soon.............
