An expert on Autism Spectrum Disorder will speak on issues surrounding the diagnosis of autism Tuesday night, October 23, 2007, in the Corvallis High School Auditorium 1400 NW Buchanan Ave. in Corvallis, Oregon.

The talk begins at 7 PM and is open to the public.

Debra K. Eisert will help parents and educators understand how autism spectrum disorders are diagnosed. Ms. Eisert will explain the differences between a medical diagnosis of autism and an educational eligibility of autism.

Eisert is a child psychologist at OSHU's Child Development and Rehabibiltation Center in Eugene and a faculty member at the University of Oregon.

Following the lecture there will be audience questions and a panel discussion featuring Eisert, Corvallis pediatrician Lydia Fusetti and Psychologist Jennifer Hogansen of the Corvallis Clinic.

Debra Eisert comes to Corvallis through a grant from the Corvallis Clinic Foundation, a non-profit organization.
