Nominations Open for Annual Civic Awards Corvallis Oregon

If you would like to nominate someone for one of this years Celebrate Corvallis Honors, you will need a computer with internet access, the nomination process has gone digital.

In addition to saving staff time processing all those handwritten paper nomination forms, the move is intended to expand participation.

"We thought we would engage a lot more people by going to an online system because you don't have to come in and get a form," said Mysty Rusk Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition President.

The annual community awards banquet, will be held at Oregon State University's LaSells Stewart Center and CH2M Hill Alumni Center on January 23, 2008.

Celebrate Corvallis honors Civic Leadership, Business Achievement and Community involvement in eleven different categories, including new citations this year for nonprofits and environmentally sensitive companies. 

Nominations will be accepted through November 14, 2007 on the Chamber Coalition Web site

Awards will be given in the following categories: First Citizen, Senior First Citizen, Junior First Citizen, Future First Citizen, Robert C. Ingalls Business Person of the Year, Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Good Stewart of the Planet, Jim and Ruth Howland Lifetime Achievement Award, Patron of the Arts, Community Organization/Nonprofit of the Year.
