About 250 employees at Hewlett Packard's Corvallis site received their layoff notice from Hewlett Packard this week, February 2009.

In Corvallis, Hewlett Packard Managers plan to shut down one of three silicon wafer fabrication facilities at the Corvallis site. This latest announcement continues a list of similar announcements that will ultimately affect the "East Fab" site, that is slated to be completely shut down.

The larger question is how long will it be before Hewlett Packard closes its doors completely in Corvallis, Oregon?

Name: Tony Sechi | Comment: HP Corvallis is a HORRIBLE place to work! There are so many reasons for that that I'd have to spend 10 years just to list them all. The VAST majority of persons have already been laid off over the past 9 years. The site went from 7000 persons to 700 persons during those 9 years. The people that are left NEED their jobs. They will do anything to keep them. Management has grown hostile to the workers and has continued to take away money and benefits from them. The place is totally sick and many who work there are extremely de-ranged. There are some very mental people running the business who ought to be in a freakin nut house!!! HP in Corvallis is a bad bad place full of great unhappiness and I am so glad to get the hell outta there!!! Shut the place down!!! Do everyone a big favor!!! The CEO is a sick pup who talks out off 16 sides of his head.
