The Gazette Times reports, the total tax bill for Benton County's 33,000 property owners is $93.1 million dollars, up about 10% from $84.6 Million dollars last year.

Doug Hillpot, Benton County Assessor said, "Actual assessed values went up significantly".

Corvallis and Philomath helped grow Benton County's total assests by about $200 million dollars since 2006.

Property owners in Corvallis will pay $1.06 more per $1,000 of assessed valuation, thanks to the new School Levy.

This year new construction helped push tax collections up 4.2%, netting the City of Corvallis $330,000 more than anticipated.
