Federal Judge Ruling Allows Resumption Of Sea Lion Capture in Oregon

A Federal Judge on Thursday denied a request by the Humane Society of the United States for a stay of his order allowing Oregon, Washington and Idaho to resume capturing or killing sea lions that feed on Salmon at the base of the Bonneville Dam.

The removal of sea lions could begin as early as March 1. U. S. District Judge Michael Mosman had ruled in November 2008 against the Humane Society.
