The Freecycle Network is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to reduce the waste going to landfills. The network is made up of over 4,100 local chapters around the world. The concept of Freecycle is to freely offer goods you no longer want to anyone who would like to pick them up and, of course, to likewise obtain goods other people are offering. Everything on Freecycle, by definition must be given/gotten for FREE. By signing up (for free) as a member to your local Freecycle chapter, you can view other members' postings of items that they are offering to give away as well as post your own items that you would like to offer. Planning a move and need some packing boxes? Have an old cell phone, digital camera or computer monitor that you no longer want? Freecycle allows you to give away the things you no longer need while keeping them out of a landfill and simultaneously helping out someone who actually needs/desires your items.
