Baguettes

I decided to make some baguettes today after reading an article about the winner of The Best Baguette in DC contest. First place went to Samuel Fromartz, who was nice enough to put his winning recipe on-line. Since I have never made a baguette that I was happy with, I decided to give his recipe a shot.

I followed the recipe almost to the letter, including using King Arthur Organic All-Purpose Flour because I happened to have it already in my pantry. The resulting baguettes had a soft open crumb and a crackly, crunchy crust. Nice taste, nice texture.

Recipe can be found here: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/display.php?id=37194
