Christonium Terms of Use

Christonium allows the organization, creation and sharing of intellectual concepts through a network of social interaction and connection. We believe strongly in self-governance, personal freedom and personal responsibility. The Christonium Terms of Use hereby lays the foundation of the website and insists you (the account holder) carefully read, observe and understand the following in order to use Christonium.com.

Access
Christonium hereby grants the user permission to use the website Christonium.com as set forth in this agreement, provided that:
(1) The user will not copy or distribute any part of the website in any medium without Christonium’s written authorization;
(2) The user agrees not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots," "spiders," "offline readers," etc. Christonium does not grant the operators of public search engines, nor any other source permission to archive Christonium.com and any of its internal system.
(3) The user needs to create an account in order to fully use Christonium.com. The user is fully responsible for any activity that occurs on the account and must keep the password secure.
(4) Any entity can create an account on Christonium.com. Christonium does not restrict the use of accounts whether individual, personal, commercial, government, political, religious or other entities, provided the user correctly identifies themselves to the system.
(5) Access to Christonium is restricted to account holders 18 years of age and older.
(6) The user will comply with the terms and conditions of these Terms of Use.

Accounts
Users are fully responsible to remember their username and password. Make sure to remember your account information and keep it secure. Christonium cannot in any way reinstate a user when any account information is misplaced.

User Submissions
Users understand that any content posted publicly is available for other account holders to use and share within their own area of Christonium.com. USERS PUT UP INFORMATION AT THEIR OWN RISK. Users understand that their publicly posted content might appear in contexts not originally intended and that any user can view, reorganize, associate, use for supporting content, and display their information within Christonium.com, whether it be in the form of text, images, video or documents.

The user is solely responsible for any content published and the consequence of any published content. Christonium does not claim any ownership rights to any material submitted by any user: the account holder retains all ownership rights to the published content, and continues to have the right to use the content in any way desired. However, by adding content to Christonium.com, the user grants Christonium a non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable, transferable, limited license. The license grants Christonium the rights to use, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, prepare derivative works of and distribute such content in any format Christonium chooses. The user also grants each other account holder of Christonium.com a non-exclusive license to access its user submissions throughout Christonium.com and to use, share, organize, associate, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of and display the content as permitted within Christonium.com and under these terms of service. The license granted by the user to Christonium and to its users terminates once the user removes content from Christonium.com.

- The user affirms, represent and/or warrants that: (1) you own the content posted by you on Christonium.com, or otherwise have the right to grant the license set forth in this section, and (2) the posting of your content on Christonium.com does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights of any person. The user agrees to pay for all royalties, fees, or fines owing any person by reason of any content posted by the user on Christonium.com.

- The user agrees to not submit material that is unlawful or violates the respect of others.

- The user agrees to follow all local laws he or she is under jurisdiction of.

- The user agrees to not misdirect, re-direct or misguide other users.

- The user agrees to not impersonate another person or entity.

- The user agrees to respect all users of Christonium.com and their contributions, and not to violate the personal privacy and freedom of any account holder.

Christonium does not endorse any user submissions or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein and Christonium expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with user submissions. Christonium is not responsible for the accuracy, safety, or intellectual property rights of or relating to posted content. The user understands and acknowledges the possibility of exposure to content that is inaccurate or offensive. Christonium assumes no responsibility for the content, no obligation to modify or to remove any seemingly inappropriate content, and no responsibility for the user submitting any such content.

Users are not permitted to use content within Christonium.com outside of the Christonium.com website; content may not be used, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed or otherwise exploited for any other purpose whatsoever without prior written consent of the respective owners.

Commercial Use
Any commercial organization, group, association, club, non-profit etc. can use Christonium.com, as set forth in this agreement provided:
(1) The account holder will not mass solicit material to other users.
(2) The account holder will respect the privacy of other users and not exploit any personal information granted the account holder through Christonium.com.
(3) The account holder will not post misleading advertisements, scams, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or seek or encourage others to engage in such activities

Reserved Rights

- Christonium reserves the right to expose users of the program to advertising in any form.

- Christonium reserves the right to remove anything from the program or any account therein, at any point in time, without any prior notice, in the sole judgment and discretion of Christonium.

- Christonium reserves the right to provide service at times of our choice, and cannot guarantee that the website Christonium.com will be up functioning at all times.

- Christonium reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

- Christonium reserves the right to change this terms of use agreement at any time.

  • Christonium.com does not allow any search engine to archive our internal systems.
  • Christonium.com does not require any personal information.

  • Christonium.com allows account holders control over their exposure to advertising.
  • Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.
  • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet.

What is Christonium?
Christonium is a platform that enables anyone to create a free web presence.

How do I create a website on Christonium?
Simply fill out this short form and then you’re ready to design your webpage, create categories and add content.

What features does a website on Christonium offer?
Christonium provides you with a set structure, and you can customize each element within that structure. You have full control over category structure and content and can easily add, modify and update any part of your account. Christonium also offers RSS feeds, precise privacy settings, advanced built-in search engine optimization as well as various social features.

Why do you call a site on Christonium a “social website”?
All sites on Christonium have several social aspects integrated to it, such as contacting, sharing and commenting features as well as an internal mail system that enables you to communicate with other Christonium sites and also enables anyone to write to your site.

Can I make a website for my business?
Yes. You can make a website for your company and advertise your business absolutely free. We only ask you to specify your intentions by creating a business account.

I want to put up private photos for my friends and family, is that possible?
Yes, Christonium enables you to make any category private under which you can store photos, documents and information. You can specify exactly what other accounts are granted access to any specific private category.

Can I use Christonium as a blog?
Yes, Christonium provides an excellent platform for a blog. It’s very easy to create, publish and organize content as well as design your site. Christonium also provides each site their own RSS feed so visitors can subscribe to your content.

I don’t have search engine optimization on my current website, can Christonium be helpful to me?
Each Christonium site comes with built in search engine optimization which have proved very effective. If you make a site on Christonium and put up good content, you have a very good chance at coming up high in the search engines for terms related to your content. We recommend anyone who wants greater exposure online to create an account on Christonium and publish content on a regular basis. If you already have a website, your Christonium site will create an effective complimentary web-presence.

I’m concerned about my personal online exposure, how protected am I when I use Christonium?
Christonium has gone to great lengths to assure users privacy. If you are concerned with your exposure online, Christonium provides a great platform because: we don’t allow any search engine to archive our internal systems; we don’t require any personal information; we don’t use persistent cookies and we do allow account holders control over their personal exposure to advertising.

We hope you will enjoy the system and all it's features. Now that you have an account on Christonium you can create and organize content, personalize your site, write friends and family and connect with different people.

Currently you are in an item called "My First Item", you may edit this by clicking on "Edit Item" just a little above to the left, under the Title of this Item.

To create more categories and items, manage your account and design your desktop, click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar.

At any time you can go and get help in the very top bar, or go directly to the christonium home page and view new activity.

To add a top level category
first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your category section appears in the left center box.Select "Add Top Category." As the name field appears underneath, insert an appropriate name for your category and select whether this is a public or private category (if private is selected, then any categories and items under this category will by default be hidden from the public).

Once you have created a top level category you can either add an item under this category or create a subcategory.

To create a subcategory
first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your category section appears in the left center box.Go to the category you wish to create a subcategory under, you will see a message in your category section:
"Selected category:________" Once you have found the right category to place the subcategory under, click
"Add Sub Category"

Now insert an appropriate name for your sub category in the field and select whether this category is public or private.

To move a category,
first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your category section appears in the left center box. Then go to the category you wish to move (Do not click Home or Sitemap). You will see a message in your category section:
"Selected category:________" Once you have found the right category to move, click
"Move"

If this is a subcategory and you wish to make this a top level category, then after you click "Move", click “Yes” to “set _______ as a Main Category?”

If you wish to move this category under another category, follow the instructions and go to the category you wish to move the category under (Do not click Home or Sitemap). Click "Yes" to "Move this category under________", when you have found the right category.

To make a category private

If you wish to make a category private after the initial creation process of the category, first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your category section appears in the left center box. Go to the category you wish to change the setting at, you will see a message in your category section:

"Selected category:________" Once you have found the right category to edit, click "Edit." Now you can change the public/private setting, as well as change the name if you so wish.

To delete a category

In order to delete a category, the category cannot contain any items. Delete or move any items under a category before attempting to delete it.
Click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your category section appears in the left center box. Then go to the category you wish to delete, you will see a message in your category section:

"Selected category:________" Underneath there are several options, click "Delete."

Items:

To add an item,
first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your item section appears in the right center box.. Go to the category you wish to add an item under, you will see the category you’re in listed to the left in your category box. To the right in your item box, you will see
"Create Item.”

Make sure you are in the right category, then click “Create Item.” Now you can create your item by adding a title, text, images and/or embedded videos.

To move an item,
first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your item section appears in the right center box.. Go to the item you wish to move (first select the category the item is in, then choose the right item), you will see the category you’re in listed to the left in your category box. To the right in your item box, you will see
"Move Item” as one of your alternatives.

Click “Move Item.” Follow the instructions and go to the category you wish to move the item under. Click "Move Item" once again, when you have found the right category.

To edit an item
Go to the item you wish to edit and click "Edit Item" located right under the Title of the Item (top left). Beware that you can only edit items that you created, and not shared items.
To delete an item, first click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. Your item section appears in the right center box. Go to the item you wish to remove. You will see a message in your item section:

"Selected Item:________" Underneath there are several options, click "Delete Item."

 

Sharing:

How to I share an item?
To share an item, first find another user’s item that you wish to share. Click on the item, and look at the top right corner of the item to find the text “Share.”
Click on “Share” and you will see your sharing cart appear underneath the item with the item listed in it. You can add as many items as you like to your sharing cart. Now you have to organize your shared items in order for other users to see them on your site.

*If this item is located under a private category the Share link will not appear, as you cannot share someone"s private item. The Share button will not appear if this is your own item, or if you already share it.


How do I organize a shared item?

To organize the items in your sharing cart, first go back to your own area by clicking "My Home" at the very top right. Now you will see "Sharing Cart " as a top level category on your site. Click on the Sharing Cart and go to the item you wish to move. Then click "move" (located right under "Selected Item...")

Follow the instructions and go to the category you wish to move the item under. Click "Yes move shared item" once again, when you have found the right category.

(Notice! In order to move a shared item, you must already have created your own categories.)


How do I delete a shared item?
If the item is still in your sharing cart, simply make sure you are on another user's page, so that your sharing cart appears to your right. Delete the item directly from the cart. If you have already organized the shared item under your own category, then simply go to the selected item. Click "Items" at the top right corner of your area, then click "Delete Item? yes" in your top right category box.

 

Home Help

How do I change the text and images of my home page?

First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Homepage.” Now you can add text that will appear on your home page as well as images. The first image upload "Upload Profile Photo or Logo" will appear at your top navigation to the left, whereas the next upload "Upload Photo or Graphic for your home area:", will display on your home page.


How do I change my password and Site Title?

First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Account.” Here you can either change your password, and/or change the title of your site.

How do I change the design of my area?

First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Design.” Under design you will see various under-lying sections, you can either select “Default Themes” and choose a pre-set color scheme, or you can edit each part of your desktop individually. If you choose to design each part of your desktop, then simply go to the different sections such as “Edit Site Background Design” and “Edit Contact Design” etc… and set the background color, font color, font-size…

 

Advertising Settings

How do I turn off the advertising display?

First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Account.” Below account & password settings you see "Show Ads: Yes: No:". Change the setting to No. Now you will no longer see ads displayed on the system.

 

Public/Private Setting

How do I close my desktop for public browsing?
First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Account.” Below you see "Open Your Section: Yes No". Change the setting to No. Your desktop will no longer be accessible to outside visitors; only Christonium users can now see your desktop.



Contact Help
How do I get contacts?

To become contacts with somebody, first go to that persons account. Look at their contact area at the left side and click "make contact". Now you can write a message accompanying your contact request and send. This account will receive your request and choose whether or not to accept. When the user accepts your request, their username will automatically appear in your contact area.



How do I make a contact private?

To make a contact private, means that their name will not appear on your site. First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Contacts.” Now all your contacts will to the right. Click on the desired contact and change the setting to private.



How do I give a contact access to one of my private categories?

First click "Administration" located in your top navigation bar. You will see various sections, click “Contacts.”Now all your contacts will to the right. Click on the desired contact and click on "Give _____ access to a private category? yes". Now, pull down the list of your categories and select the appropriate one. Your contact will immediately receive access.


Mail Center
How do I send a message?

First, in order to be able to send a message to someone, you must be a contact with that user.

To send a message, first go to your Mail Center, located in the very top bar to the right next to “My Home.” Click on “Compose” in the left bar under Inbox. You can now choose who you wish to send a message to, all your contacts will be listed in the drop down menu. As you select a contact, they will appear to the right side of the compose box. You can select to send a message to any number of your contacts.



How do I delete my sent mail?

To delete your sent mail, first go to your Mail Center, located in the very top bar to the right next to “My Home.” Thereafter, click on "Sent Mail" in the left bar under “Journal View”, to see all your sent messages. Check all the messages you wish to delete.

Notice! When you delete a message you sent, you also delete that same message from the receivers inbox.
