This is a very interesting ale and that comes through in the first sip.
I grabbed the bottle and read the label to see if there was any insight.
This ale is bottle conditioned.
The fresh yeast and a bit of gritty sediment came through when I first tried it. I should have read the bottle first because there was a warning about being careful when you pour it to avoid the sediment.
After settling for a few minutes the flavors mellowed and the light carmel/vanilla, apple and pear flavors came through with that stronger yeast aroma. T
his is not a sweet beer and more on the dry side.
Overall Young's London ale is a nice award winning beer and the bottle conditioning brings a very different dimension to beer.
