A friend of mine recommended I give this a try as this is one of his favorite Canadian beers. After looking into it, I learned that La Fin Du Monde was a triple fermented beer with an ABV of 9%. I became worried and really hoped this beer would not be the "End of the World"!

I found it at my favorite beer store and gave it a try.

With my fingers crossed, I poured La Fin Du Monde. It was golden and cloudy. The head was white and thick. Letting the beer sit for a few minutes, it settled and had excellent retention.

The aroma was that of a light wheat and did not smell too complex. More then anything else I was happy not to smell alcohol.

Before I go further I need to say this is a sipping beer first and foremost. This beer is so smooth and well rounded the alcohol can easily sneak up on you. If you are not careful, I can see this beer really being the end of the world and fast.

The flavor is wheaty but not over done. I was just so surprised at how well the alcohol was masked. Even the wheat flavor is subtle and blended. This is probably the best Belgian style beer brewed in North America I have ever had.

The beer was well carbonated and just enough to tickled the tongue.

Considering how cloudy this beer was, I really expect some gritty texture. That was not to be and texture of the beer was smooth.

La Fin Du Monde is a great beer and I thank my friend for the recommendation. I am also very glad, I only picked up one. It hits fast!
