| Troegs is brewer that never let me down. All of there beers are a little edgy for the style but also very enjoyable. Their Pale Ale was no different and I would not hesitate to get this again. This pale ale poured a clear amber with a weak head that had little retention. I definitely was not expecting an amber color from a pale ale.
In any case, the aroma was dominated by the casdade hops, which were bright and floral. That I was expecting.
The taste was a nice balance between the sweet malts and floral hops. Compared to Troegs Hop Back, this is lighter and not as fruity. I did not find the flavors to be light. The hops were piney and floral and then the drink transitioned to the malty backbone of the beer. The flavors were much sharper right after I poured it and as the beer warmed the hops mellowed. The texture of the beer was more on watery side with a very light body. This also had just the right amount of carbonation for me and went down very smooth. I found this to be a very refreshing beer and perfect to have on hand for all occasions.
