This was the last beer I tried from a Tommyknocker sample 12-pack I picked up a couple weeks ago. For the most part I really enjoyed all the beers from this brewer.

Tommyknocker's Brown Ale poured brown with a weak tan-white head.

Its aroma was light but laced with brown sugar sweetness and just a touch of walnut.

I will start off by saying I could not taste the maple as advertised however there was plenty of caramel sweetness and up front nuttiness.  Surprisingly I found the middle was hoppy dry with the beer finishing with a slight tanginess.

The flavor profile was not strong and almost watery.  This made the beer relatively clean and simple as it was not heavy and sugary.

I also found that the flavors did change a lot with each sip making for a complex beer and difficult to pin down.

The body was about middle of the road and rather light.  The carbonation was very light and gave the beer a smooth quality.

I conclude that Tommyknocker's Maple Nut Brown was a nice beer and consistent with the rest of their beers that I tried.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
