Now this is a novel and enjoyable beer if you are looking for something different. The Scotch Ale is part of Sam's Brewmaster's Collection. The ale pours a rich, dark amber and is almost brown. The aroma is malty with hints of something interesting. The bottle label states the Scotch is brewed with the same "peat smoked malts" used in Scottish whiskies. This medium body beer tastes like it is infused with whisky. And, I found that very appealing just because most beer seems to taste a like after a while. These malts made the Scotch Ale so distinctive. The taste of the whisky really adds a unique flavor and does not overpower a very nice drink.
