The Honey Porter is part of Sam's Brewmaster's Collection and surprisingly I found this to be a great beer as I am normally not one for honey-flavored beers. This ale is brown and pours dark like a porter should with a deep roasted malt aroma. Some floral notes in the back lightens the aroma up somewhat. And there is the honey - real honey. The honey in this beer tastes fresh and not artificial and the roasted malts in this porter are chocolaty rich. The beer finishes with just a bit of tartness. Bar none - Sam is one of the best brewers in the US.
